TRIBUTE TO JIMMY BUFFETT 1946-2023 “Margaritaville”

IN 1994 BILL CLINTON fired Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders in part for teaching about masturbation in schools as a way of preventing teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.  wikipedia

SALUTE TO JIMMY BUFFET 1946-2023 “MARGARITAVILLE”

JEAN LAFITTE was my hero as a romantic character. I’m not sure he was a musical influence. His lifestyle influenced me, most definitely, cause I’m the very opposite of Mitch Miller.

I have always looked at life as a voyage, mostly wonderful, sometimes frightening. In my family and friends I have discovered treasure more valuable than gold.

IF WE COULDN’T LAUGH, WE WOULD ALL GO INSANE.

IF LIFE GIVES YOU LIMES, MAKE MARGARITAS.

BE YOURSELF, BE PLEASANT, PLAY HARD AND HAVE NO REGRETS.

IT TAKES no more time to see the good side of life than to see the bad.

SOME OF IT’S MAGIC and some of it’s tragic, but I had good life all the way.

SOME MAKE THE WORLD GO AROUND, OTHERS WATCH IT TURN.

FUN IS ABOUT AS GOOD A HABIT AS THERE IS.

we got to roll WITH THE PUNCHES, PLAY ALL OF OUR HUNCHES, MAKE THE BEST OF WHATEVEER COMES YOUR WAY. Forget that blind ambition, learn to trust your intuition — plow straight ahead, come what may.

Wrinkles will only go where the smiles have been.

WITH YOU, I WOULD WALK ANYWHERE.

ONLY TIME WILL TELL IF IT WAS TIME WELL-SPENT.

BREATHE IN, BREATHE OUT, MOVE ON.

LATER DOWN THE ROAD OF LIFE, I made the discovery that salt water was also good for the mental abrasions one inevitably acquires on land.

PEOPLE WHO THINK too much before they act don’t act too much.

I’D RATHER DIE WHILE I’M LIVING THEN LIVE WHEN I’M DEAD.

WHEN THE GOOD TIMES COME AROUND, they gallop in like wild horses. You just try to stay on them for as long as you can. And when they throw you off you just wait in the shade until they come around again.

I’VE GOT A CARIBBEAN SOUL I can barely control and Texas hidden here in my heart.

WHATEVER THRILLS YOU, anything you love to do, just say — Someday, I will.

SOME PEOPLE think there’s a woman to blame, but I know — it’s my own damn fault.

I’M LIVING ON THINGS THAT EXCITE ME, BE THEY PASTRY, OR LOBSTER, OR LOVE.

There’s a little but of fruitcake in left in everyone of us.

WE ARE THE PEOPLE OUR PARENTS WARNED US ABOUT.

PACK YOUR BAGS, WE’RE GOING ON A GUILT TRIP!

IT’S A FINE LINE BETWEEN SATURDAY NIGHT & SUNDAY MORNING.

                                    DON’T GIVE UP!
