BIRTHDAYS JUKLY 12, 2023. + THE TEACHING OF SRI RAMANA MAHARSHI

                         SRI RAMANA MAHARSHI

PLEASURE OR PAIN ARE ASPECTS OF THE MIND ONLY. Our essential nature is happiness. But we have forgotten the Self and imagine that the body or the mind is the Self. It is that wrong identity that give rise to misery. What is to be done? This mental tendency is very ancient and has continued for innumerable past births. Hence it has grown strong. that must go before the essential nature happiness, asserts itself.

R. BUCKMINSTER FULLER “Operating Manual for spaceship Earth”
“Critical Path” “Your Private Sky: Discourse”     1895-1983

EVERYTHING WE SEE IS INSIDE OUR OWN HEADS.

MISTAKES ARE GREAT, the more I make the smarter I am.

YOU CAN’T CHANGE ANYTHING by fighting or resisting it. You change something by making it obsolete through superior methods.

                         SHARING IS HAVING MORE.

IF A MAN CHOOSE OBLIVION, HE CAN go right on leaving his fate to his political leaders. If he chooses Utopia, he must initiate an enormous eduction program — immediately, if not sooner.

TO DO MORE AND MORE WITH LESS and less until eventually you can do everything with nothing.

MY VISION IS to make the world work for 100% of humanity in the shortest possible time through spontaneous cooperation without ecological offense or the disadvantage of anyone.

THERE IS NOTHING in a caterpillar that tells you it’s going to be a butterfly.

WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO OPERATE OUR SPACESHIP EARTH successfully nor for much longer unless we see it as a whole spaceship and our fate as common. It has to be everyone or nobody.

I HAVE SPENT MOST OF MY LIFE UNLEARNING things that were proved not to be true.

A PROBLEM adequately stated is a problem well on its way to being solved.

HUMAN BEINGS always do the most intelligent thing . . . after they’ve tried every stupid alternative and none of them have worked.

GENIUSES ARE JUST PEOPLE WHO HAD GOOD MOTHERS.

HENRY DAVID THOREAU. 1817-1862. “Walden” “Civil Disobedience”

THE PRICE OF ANYTHING is the amount of life you exchange for it.

IT’S THE BEAUTY WITHIN US that makes it possible for us to recognize the beauty around us. the question is not what you look at but what you see.

THINK FOR YOURSELF, or others will think for you without thinking of you.

LIFE isn’t about finding yourself; it’s about creating yourself. So live the life you imagined.

THE ONLY PEOPLE who ever get anyplace interesting are the people who get lost.

TO HAVE made even one person’s life a little better, that is to succeed.

                   DISSENT WITHOUT ACTION IS CONSENT.

WHAT LIES behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lives within us.

I WENT TO THE WOODS because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover I had not lived.

THE ONLY WAY TO TELL THE TRUTH IS TO SPEAK WITH KINDNESS. ONLY THE WORDS OF A LOVING MAN CAN BE HEARD.

MOST MEN lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them.

THE GREATEST TRAGEDY IN LIFE is to spend your whole life fishing only to discover it was never fish that you were after.

WILLIAM OSLER. 1849-1919 One of the four founding professors of Johns Hopkins Hospital.  “Aequanimita” “The Principles”

THE GOOD PHYSICIAN treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease.

MEDICINE is a science of uncertainty and an art of probability.

ONE of the first duties of the physician is to educate the masses not to take medicine.

THE GREATER THE IGNORANCE THE GREATER THE DOGMATISM.

THE  philosophies of one age have become the absurdities of the next, and the foolishness of yesterday has become the wisdom of tomorrow.

WE ARE HERE to add what we can to life, not to get what we can from life.

                     LET’S FIND THE HAPPINESS WITHIN.
