CLEVERNESS AND COMPLEXITY ARE NOT NECESSARILY WISDOM.

THE HEART LIKE A BELL, wants striking, and in the resonance of the heart the purpose of that activity is fulfilled. HAZRAT KHAN

UPON WAKING in the morning, consider the privilege it is to be alive, to have the ability to think, to experience joy, and to feel love.         MARCUS AURELIUS

YOU GOTTA RESURRECT the deep pain within you and give it a place to live that’s not within your body. Let it live in art,. Let it live in writing. Let it live in music. Let it be devoured by building brighter connections. Your body is not a coffin for pain to be buried in. Put it somewhere else.   EHIME ORA

LIFE IS SHORT. Break the rules. Forgive quickly. Kiss slowly. Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that makes you smile.                                MARK TWAIN

AS OUR OWN SPECIES is in the process of proving, one cannot have superior science and inferior morals. The combination is unstable and self-destroying.            ARTHUR C. CLARKE

LUIS ALBERTO URREA  1955——“The Devils Highway”

WORDS ARE THE ONLY BREAD WE CAN REALLY SHARE.

THE WORLD was more than a place. Life was more than an event. It was all one thing, and that thing was: story.

LAUGHTER IS A VIRUS THAT INFECTS YOU WITH HUMANITY.

DEATH is alive, they whispered. death lives inside life, as bones dance within the body. Yesterday is with today. Yesterday never dies.

EVERYBODY KNEW that being dead could put you in a terrible mood.

POETRY is how I feed the soul, and it’s how I fire the furnace of writing.

I’M interested in the eternal soul. That’s what I write about.

WE’RE ALL FUNNY. HUMOR UNITES US.

I’M ALWAYS TRYING TO, using literature, subvert people’s responses.

I was deeply infected with storytelling from the get go, and I truly love it.

GEORGE AIKEN   1892-1984——-SENATOR FROM VERMONT.

THE BEST POLICY IS TO DECLARE VICTORY AND LEAVE.

PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE the world over. Some are good, some bad, some greedy and some generous. nations are like people and act the same way.

I’VE NEVER KNOWN A COUNTRY TO BE STARVED INTO DEMOCRACY.

IF we were to wake up some morning and find that everyone was the same race, creed and color, we would find some other causes for prejudice by noon.

AS ONE who has often felt this need, and who has found refreshment in wild places, I attest to the recreational value of wilderness.

PAUL TILLICH  1886-1965    “I and Thou” “The Courage to Be”.

ONE CANNOT BE STRONG WITHOUT LOVE. FOR LOVE IS NOT AN IRRELEVANT EMOTION; IT IS THE BLOOD OF LIFE.

THE FIRST DUTY OF LOVE IS TO LISTEN.

LANGUAGE . . . has created the word ‘loneliness’ to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word ‘solitude’ to express the glory of being alone.

THE COURAGE to be is the courage to accept oneself, in spite of being unacceptable.

DOUBT IS NOT THE OPPOSITE OF FAITH; IT IS ONE ELEMENT OF FAITH.

WE HAVE TO BUILD A BETTER MAN BEFORE WE CAN BUILD A BETTER SOCIETY.

THERE IS NO LOVE WHICH DOES NOT BEOME LOVE.

HE WHO RISKS and fails can be forgiven. He who never risks and never fails is a failure in his whole being.

SOMETIMES I think it is my mission to bring faith to the faithless, and doubt to the faithful.

GENUINE FORGIVENESS is participation, reunion overcoming the powers of estrangement . . . We cannot love unless we have accepted forgiveness, and the deeper our experience of forgiveness is, the greater is our love.

CRUELTY TOWARDS OTHERS IS ALWAYS ALSO CRUELTY TOWARDS OURSELVES.

                     LOVE THAT CARES, LISTENS.

THERE IS NO LOVE WHICH DOES NOT BECOME HELP.

IN THOSE WHO REST ON THEIR UNSHAKABLE FAITH, PHARISAISM AND FANATICISM ARE THE UNMISTAKABLE SYMTOMS OF DOUBT WHICH HAS BEEN REPRESSED. Doubt is not overcome by repression but by courage. Courage does not deny that there is doubt, but it takes the doubt into itself as an expression of its own finitude and affirms the content of an ultimate concern. Courage does not need the safety of an unquestionable conviction. It includes the risks without which no creative life is possiblee.

LONELINESS can be conquered only by those who can bear solitude.

ACCEPT the fact that you are accepted, despite the fact that you are unacceptable.

GRACE STRIKES US WHEN WE ARE IN GREAT PAIN & RESTLESSNESS.

BEING religious means asking passionately the question of the meaning of our existence and being willing to receive answers, even if the answers hurt.

H. P. LOVECRAFT 1890-1937       “Tales of Horror” wife Sonia Greene
THE OLDEST and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.

I FELT MYSELF on the edge of the world; peering over the rim into a fathomless chaos of eternal night.

THE WORLD IS INDEED COMIC, BUT THE JOKE IS ON MANKIND.

                  INCURABLE LOVER OF THE GROTESQUE.

I HAVE HARNESSED the shadows that stride from world to world to sow death and madness.

THE REPUBLICANS — how can one regard seriously a frightened, greedy, nostalgic huddle of tradesmen and lucky idlers who shut their eyes to history and science, steel their emotions against decent human sympathy.

                             GET REVITALIZED, NOW!
