CHARLES SCHULZ, WILLIAM COWPER–BIRTHDAYS–NOV, 26, 2023–PLUS–RALPH WALDO EMERSON, ARTHUR C, CLARKE, CHARLES DICKENS, WALTER CRONKITE, THICH NHAT HANH.

OUR OWN LIFE HAS TO BE OUR MESSAGE. THICH NHAT HANH

WAR ITSELF, OF COURSE, a form of madness. It’s hardly a civilized pursuit. It’s amazing how we spend so much time inventing devices to kill each other and so little time working on how to achieve peace.
                                                WALTER CRONKITE

NO ONE IS USELESS IN THIS WORLD WHO LIGHTENS THE BURDENS OF ANOTHER.           CHARLES DICKENS

AS OUR OWN SPECIES is in the process of proving one cannot have superior science and inferior morals. The combination is unstable and self-destroying.   ARTHUR C. CLARKE

ALL I HAVE SEEN teaches me to trust the creator for all I have not seen.                          RALPH WALDO EMERSON

CHARLES M. SCHULZ 1922-2000. CARTOONIST.   “PEANUTS”.
LIFE IS LIKE A TEN SPEED BICYCLE. MOST OF US HAVE GEARS WE NEVER USE.

BE YOURSELF. NO ONE CAN SAY YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG.

LEARN FROM YESTERDAY, live for today, look to tomorrow — rest this afternoon.

IN LIFE, it’s not where you go — it’s who you travel with.

ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.

DON’T WORRY about the world coming to an end today. It is already tomorrow in Australia.

HAPPINESS IS ANYONE AND ANYTHING THAT’S LOVED BY YOU.

JUST THINKING about a friend makes you want to dance because a friend is someone who loves you in spite of your faults.

IT JUST SEEMS that if you hang on for a while longer. there is always something bright around the corner or the dark clouds will go away and there will be sunshine again.

FRIENDSHIP isn’t about who you’ve known the longest. It’s all about the friend who comes and stands by your side in bad times.

THE BEST THEOLOGY IS PROBABLY NO THEOLOGY; JUST LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

I GAVE UP TRYING to understand people long ago. Now I let them try to understand me.

SOMETIMES you lie in bed at night & you don’t have a single thing to worry about . . . That always worries me.

I DON’T THINK GOD WANTS TO BE WORSHIPPED. I think the only pure worship of God is by loving one another & I think all other forms of worship became a substitute for the love that we should show one another.

IN THE BOOK OF LIFE THE ANSWERS AREN’T IN THE BACK.

THERE IS NOTHING MORE ATTRACTIVE THAN A NICE SMILE.

THERE IS NO HEAVIER BURDEN THAN AN UNFULFILLED POTENTIAL.

IF I were given the opportunity to present a gift to the next generation, it would be the ability for each individual to learn to laugh at himself.

 I LOVE PEOPLE; IT’S MANKIND I CAN’T STAND.

THE WORLD IS FILLED WITH UNMARRIED MARRIAGE COUNSELORS.

WILLIAM COWPER 1731-1800 “THE TASK” The best letter writer.
KNOWLEDGE IS PROUD that it knows so much; wisdom is humble that it knows no more.

NO TRAVELER e’er reached that blest abode who found not thorns & briars in his road.

EXISTENCE is a strange bargain. Life owes us little; we owe it everything. The only true happiness comes from squandering ourselves for a purpose.

THEY whom truth & wisdom lead can gather honey from a weed.

THE PATH OF SORROW, & that path alone, leads to the land where sorrow is unknown.

VARIETY’S THE VERY SPICE OF LIFE — THAT GIVES IT ALL ITS FLAVOR.

                                GRIEF IS ITSELF A MEDICINE.

GOD made bees & bees made honey. God made man & man made money, Pride made the devil & the devil made sin;  So God made a Cole-pit to put the devil in.

WHEN NATIONS are to perish in their sins, ’tis in the church the leprosy beans’.

THE SPIRIT BREATHES UPON THE WORD AND BRINGS THE TRUTH TO SIGHT.

BUT OARS ALONE can ne’er prevail to reach the distant coast; the breath off Heaven must swell the sail or the toil is lost.

MAN MAY DISMISS COMPASSION FROM HIS HEART BUT GOD NEVER WILL.

ABSENCE OF OCCUPATION is not rest; A mind quite vacant is a mind distressed.

KNOWLEDGE & WISDOM, far from being one, Have oft-times no connection. Knowledge dwells in heads replete with thoughts of other men; Wisdom in minds attentive to their own.

PLEASURE admitted in undue degree, enslaves the will nor leaves the judgment free.
