UNDER HUMAN INFLUENCE, BEASTS ARE MOVING FASTER FARTHER IN GREATER NUMBERS, reaching parts of the planet they could never reach before. We’re talking about the redistribution of life on Earth. ANTHON RICCIARDI NYT

TIME WOUNDS ALL HEALS.  JOHN LENNON

PEOPLE will forget what you said & they will forget what you did but they will never forget how you made them feel. MUHAMMAD ALI

WE are buried beneath the weigh of information, which is being confused with knowledge; quantity is being confused with abundance & wealth with happiness.

WE ARE MONKEYS WITH MONEY & GUNS.     TOM WAITS

MY LIFE without books would be like my life without clothes-naked. Like everyone else, I know that books warm up a room but they do much more than that they warm up the soul.   NORMAN LEAR

HATE. IT has caused a lot of problems in this world but it has not solved one yet.
                                                          MAYA ANGELOU

WILLIAM LLOYD GARISON–1805-1879—-“THE LIBERATOR” Abolitionist.
ENSLAVE the liberty of but one human being & the liberties of the world are put in peril.

EVERYONE SHOULD BE TREATED FAIRLY NO MATTER WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE.

THERE must be no compromise with slavery — none whatever. Nothing is gained, everything is lost, by subordinating principlre to expedience.

I will be harsh as truth & uncompromising as justice . . . I am in earnest, I will not equivocate, I will not excuse, I will not retreat a single inch & I will be heard.

WHEREVER there is a human being, I see God-given rights inherent in that being, whatever may be their sex or complexion.

WITH REASONABLE MEN, I will reason, with humane men I will plead; but to tyrants I will give no quarter, nor waste arguments where they will certainly be lost.

NO MAN SHALL RULE OVER ME WITH MY CONSENT. I WILL RULE OVER NO MAN.

MY CRIME is that I will not go with the multitude to do evil. My singularity is that when I say that freedom is of God & slavery is of the devil, I mean just what I say. My fanaticism is that I insist on the American people abolishing slavery or ceasing to prate on the rights of man.

THERE is no safety where there is no strength; no strength without union; no union without justice; no justice where faith & truth are wanting. The right to be free is a truth planted in the hearts of men.

WE can allow no appeal to patriotism to revenge any national insult or injury.

NO COMPROMISE WITH SLAVERY! NO UNION WITH SLAVEHOLDERS.

WE may be personally defeated but out principles never!

LIBERTY FOR EACH, FOR ALL, & FOREVER!

ARE RIGHT AND WRONG CONVERTIBLE TERMS DEPENDANT UPON POPULAR OPINION?

THE compact that exists between the North & the South is a covenant with death & an agreement with hell.

THAT WHICH IS NOT JUST IS NOT LAW.

AS LONG AS the enslavement of a single human being is sanctioned in the land, the curse of God will reset upon it.

BETTER to be always in a minority of one with God — branded as madman, incendiary, fanatic, heretic, infidel — frowned on by ‘the powers that be,’ & mobbed by the populace — or consigned ignominiously to the gallows, like him whole ‘soul is march on,’ though his ‘body lies mouldering in the grave’ or burnt to ashes at the stake like Wickliffe or nailed to the cross like him who ‘gave himself for the world’ — in defense of the RIGHT than like Herod having the shouts of a multitude crying ‘it is the voice of a god & not of a man!’

SALVERY has exercised absolute mastery over the American Church. . . . With the Bible in their hands her priesthood have attempted to prove that slavery came down from God out of heaven. They have become slaveholders & dealers in human flash.

EMILY DICKINSON 1830-1886.   “Hope is the Thing with Feathers”.
THERE IS NOTHING ON THIS EARTH MORE TO BE PRIZED THAN TRUE FRIENDSHIP.

HOPE is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul & sings the tunes without the words & never stops at all.

WE TURN NOT OLDER WITH YEARS BUT NEWER EVERY DAY.

                                        FOREVER IS COMPOSED OF NOWS.

SAYING NOTHING . . . SOMETIMES SAYS THE MOST.

TO TRAVEL FAR THERE IS NO BETTER SHIP THAN A BOOK.

YOU CAN STAY YOUNG AS LONG AS YOU LEARN.

I KNOW NOTHING IN THE WORLD that has as much power as a word. Sometimes write lone & I look at it until it begins to shine.

TO LIVE IS SO STARTLING IT LEAVES LITTLE TIME FOR ANYTHING ELSE.

                                                          I DWELL IN POSSIBILITY.

LOVE IS EVERYTHING. AND THAT’S ALL WE KNOW ABOUT IT.

LIFE IS A SPELL SO EXQUISITE THAT EVERYTHING CONSPIRES TO BREAK IT.

THERE is always one thing to be grateful for — that one is one’s self & not somebody else.

BRING ME THE SUNSET IN A CUP.

Dogs are better than human beings because they know but do not tell.

FIND ECSTASY IN LIFE; THE MERE SENSE OF LIVING IS JOY ENOUGH.

THE POET LIGHTS THE LIGHT & fades away. But the light goes on & on.

OPINION IS A FITTING THING
BUT TRUTH OUTLASTS THE SUN.

PARDON MY SANITY IN A WORLD INSANE.

TRUTH IS SO RARE THAT IT IS DELIGHTFUL TO TELL IT.

I HAVE AN APPETITE FOR SILENCE.

THAT IT WILL NEVER COME AGAIN IS WHAT MAKES LIFE SWEET.

THE SOUL SELECTS HER OWN SOCIETY.

UNABLE ARE THE LOVED TO DIE FOR LOVE IS IMMORTALITY.

                                          FORTUNE BEFRIENDS THE BOLD.

PHOSPHORESCENCE. Now there’s a world to life your hat to . . . to find that phosphorescence, that light within, that’s the genius behind poetry.

THE HEART WANTS WHAT IT WANTS — OR ELSE IT DOES NOT CARE.

THE SOUL SHOULD ALWAYS STAND AJAR.

THE L,OVELY FLOWERS EMBARRASS ME. THEY MAKE ME REGRET I AM NOT A BEE.

YOU DON’T Have to be a house to be haunted.
